Jane Thurnell-Read

Jane is the 76-year-old vegan weightlifter, author, and blogger who recommends a healthy lifestyle and fitness as the key to ageing well. She advocates a vegan diet and provides well-researched advice on nutrition via her website, YouTube channel, social media, and published works. 

Jane began cycling and lifting weights at the gym while in her early 60s and says it's never too late to start. Strength training is increasingly important in later life, helping to combat the loss of muscle mass and motor function, as well as improving balance and posture. 

A trustee of Veganuary, Jane was vegetarian for over 40 years, before becoming vegan in 2015.
