Our vision
Our Vision for 2030
At V for Life (VfL), we envision a UK where older vegans and vegetarians (veg*ns) can thrive – living in dignity, with their beliefs fully respected and their needs confidently met.
As the UK’s leading authority on plant-based living in later life, we are:
- The trusted first point of contact for older veg*ns, their families, and care providers – offering responsive, personalised support and fostering a strong sense of community.
- A driving force in improving standards across the care sector – so that high-quality vegan and vegetarian options are not only available but expected.
- A leading advocate for rights-based care, where plant-based diets are recognised in law and practice on par with religious and cultural diets – central to a person’s identity and dignity.
- A catalyst for evidence-based change, leading research and influencing national policy to ensure older veg*ns’ voices are heard and their challenges understood.
We are building a future where:
- 1 in every 6 UK care homes is listed in our VfL UK List, demonstrating a commitment to plant-based inclusion.
- 1 in every 100 UK care homes achieves full VfL accreditation – our mark of excellence in veg*n catering.
Through partnership, training, and advocacy, we strengthen the confidence, skills, and compassion of those who support older veg*ns – ensuring that plant-based living is protected and celebrated throughout later life.
