Cakes, Biscuits and Puddings

Here is just a small selection of recipes, as many of the recipes for cakes and puddings in mainstream cook books are vegetarian, so they are very easy to source. Some are also vegan or can easily be made vegan by appropriate ingredient substitution.

  • Chocolate Cheesecake

    Serves: Makes 8 slices

    This easy-to-make cheesecake uses tofu as part of the filling, adding protein and calcium. 
  • Lemon Drizzle Cake

    Serves: Makes 8–10 slices
    Time to prepare: 15 mins
    Time to cook: 1 hr
    Dietary requirements: Dairy-free, Egg-free, Vegan
    A lovely lemony sponge, topped with a sweet and sharp drizzle. Delicious. Make sure to use unwaxed lemons because waxed lemons contain shellac, which isn’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

    Serves: 12 biscuits

    These little biscuits are easy to make and can be flavoured several ways. Add an individualised decoration and serve with chocolate pots for a real treat!
