As part of a broader focus on bringing people together through food, VfL treated visitors to Manchester's Platt Hall to a practical demonstration of healthy cookery. The event hosted by VfL Roving Chef Alex attracted around 70 people, who had the chance to sample Alex's creations afterwards.
Alex says he emphasised healthy food, which contained plenty of fibre, but left out the fat and salt. He says: “There was no deep frying. Instead, there were lots of fresh herbs and spices, colourful ingredients like peppers and sweet potatoes.” he says. “Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables with a good amount of protein is key to a healthy diet.”
